Privacy Policy

Transparent, secure, and respectful handling of your personal information.

Introduction

As a Counselling Psychologist, I am committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal data. This policy outlines how I collect, use, and safeguard your information in accordance with professional ethical guidelines and data protection laws.

Information Collection

I collect the minimum personal information needed to provide professional counselling services: your name, contact details, the service you are interested in, and anything you choose to share in a message or during our sessions. Appointment requests and contact-form messages are stored securely so that your booking is not lost if an email fails to arrive, and so I can find your details when you get in touch. You receive an acknowledgement email with a secure link you can use to view, reschedule or cancel your appointment yourself.

Data Security

Your privacy is paramount. Appointment and enquiry records are held in a secure database that only I can access, protected by an individual password-protected account. Connections are encrypted, administrative actions are logged, and the links sent to you by email are single-purpose and expire. Physical records, if any, are kept in locked, secure storage in compliance with professional standards.

Confidentiality

Everything discussed in our sessions remains strictly confidential. Information is only disclosed with your explicit written consent, or when required by law (e.g., in cases of immediate risk to yourself or others).

How Long I Keep Your Information

Your booking details are kept while your appointment is active and for a period afterwards, so that I have a record of our work together. After that, identifying details — your name, email, phone number and anything you wrote in your message — are permanently removed from the record, leaving only the fact that a session took place. Enquiries sent through the contact form are removed sooner, once they have been dealt with. You can ask me to remove your details earlier at any time.

Your Rights

You have the right to access your personal data, request corrections, or ask for its deletion from my records, subject to legal and professional record-keeping requirements. You can cancel or reschedule an appointment yourself at any time using the secure link in your confirmation email. To request access or deletion, simply email me.

Updates to This Policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in my practice or legal requirements. The latest version will always be available on this website.
